There I was sitting at the counter at ***** Diner, having a quick breakfast before heading over to the airport.
The gentleman sitting next to me was eating a salad and talking with the wait staff about finding a new car. In between mouthfuls and turning pages in the AutoTrader, he paused, set his eyes on my fruit salad and spoke.
“You like fresh fruit? There’s a really good place not too far from here that has an awesome breakfast. Very fresh… Lots of fruit.”
I was intrigued. It isn’t often that someone you meet at one restaurant begins an unscripted promo for another restaurant. But that is exactly what he did. And I love fresh fruit.
Continuing his unsolicited advertisement, he raved about Cafe Brie. And being so impressed with his conviction, I had to check it out for myself. I was not disappointed.
In fact Cafe Brie does serve fresh fruit. And wonderfully fluffy croissants, chewy bagels and the best omelette in Broward County. Word to the wise though: Bring your own coffee. They have coffee, but each cup is individually made and that takes too long for this caffeine addict.
