Everglades Lake Okeechobee Air Tour
Your Everglades and Lake Okeechobee Air Tour begins with a low altitude scenic flight with aerial views of Pompano Beach, Coral Springs and Parkland. Then we’re off to the serene Florida Everglades of Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Flying low over airboat trails, sugar cane fields and farmlands to the east coastline of Lake Okeechobee gives you the best aerial view of the variety of environments Florida offers visitors and residents.

After flying over Belle Glade and Pahokee, we’ll land at Okeechobee County Airport on the north end of the Lake for a late breakfast or lunch. Can I Pay a Deposit or Will I Pay Full Price for a Reservation?
A deposit will hold your tour reservation. The balance is due before your Tour departs. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Card.
Is gratuity included in the price?
No, tips for the crew are not included in the price. Although not required or expected, gratuity is always appreciated.
How many people can fit in the tour plane?
Our tour planes have a maximum passenger capacity of 3.
Are children allowed?
All ages are welcome! If your child is younger than 24 months and will be sitting on an adult’s lap, they do not need a ticket. However, per Federal Aviation Regulations, all Tour Participants 24 months or older must have their own seat.
Will other people besides my party be on the tour?
No, your tour is private.
Is it possible to have a private tour at a different time?
Yes. Please call us at 954-399-0049. Tell us when you would like to take the tour (what day, what time). We will do our best to accommodate you.
Is there a weight limit on the flight?
Yes, all aircraft have a weight limit. If you have questions about the weight of your group, please call us in advance of your planned tour at 954-399-0049.
How long does the flight last?
The Lake Okeechobee Air Tour flight time is approximately 2 hours. We will be on the ground for snacks for 45 minutes – 1 hour.
How long is the Tour?
Plan on being away from Fort Lauderdale for up to 4 hours. Most Tours last 2 hours 45 minutes but occasionally, we spend a little more time on the ground in Okeechobee and sometimes we land at another airport on the way back.
Where do we go? What exactly do we see on the tour?
The Lake Okeechobee Air Tour will fly northwest from Fort Lauderdale over Deerfield Beach, Parkland and The Everglades. We’ll fly over Belle Glade to the Eastern shore of Lake Okeechobee. We land at the north side of the lake, have a snack or lunch, then fly west along the shore of the lake. Following the lake south, you’ll see the immenseness of Lake Okeechobee and its relationship to the east coast of Florida. You’ll also typically spot airboats, agricultural airplanes dusting crops, marine life, boaters and beach-goers.
What if it rains?
We fly weather permitting. During inclement weather, we will reschedule your tour, making every attempt to do so at your convenience. If we cannot reschedule your tour at your convenience, a full refund will be provided.
What type of plane will we be flying on?
Your tour airplane is a Cessna Cardinal.
How can I make this a surprise for my spouse, partner or friend?
Let us know at the time you book your Tour that you’d like to this to be a surprise and we won’t give your secret away.
Will the tour be narrated?
Yes, your pilot will point out sites of interest along the way. The pilot will also need to speak with air traffic control at times but, for the most part, the tour will be narrated.
Are we required to wear headphones?
You are not required to wear headphones, but to fully enjoy the experience and listen to the pilot pointing out the landmarks you will want to wear them. It also helps reduce the noise from the engine. But if you like airplane noise, that’s fine too! No headset required.
How high do we fly?
Over populated areas we fly at and above 1,500′ and the view is spectacular.
Can I take pictures and video?
Absolutely! Please share them with us after your flight!
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing and flat or low-heeled shoes. A light sweater may be desired in winter.
Are there restrooms on the plane?
The scenic flight experience is about 1 hour to the North end of the Lake and just over an hour on the return flight. Restrooms are available before departure, at the airport in Okeechobee and after landing. No restrooms are available on the aircraft.
Is there a place to store my belongings?
Participants are welcome to bring a purse or small bag with them on the aircraft. You can leave any bags you bring in the back of the aircraft, but keep in mind you will not have access to them during the flight.
I’m going on a cruise or just got off a cruise. Is there a place for all my luggage?
Yes. We will keep your luggage behind the reception area.
Can we bring food and drinks?
No, please do not bring food and drinks on board. We have water, coffee and hot chocolate available prior to departure.
Can I bring alcoholic beverages?
Personal alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the aircraft. If you are interested in a flight with alcoholic drinks, please consider the Champagne Sunset Scenic Flight.
Are we required to wear seat belts?
Yes, all passengers will be required to wear a seat belt for the duration of the flight.
Do I have to climb over the wing to get in the airplane?
No. You will walk up to the plane and step in from the ground, just like getting in your car.
Are the planes wheelchair accessible?
The Cessna Cardinal is wheelchair accessible, and depending on the size of the wheelchair and if it disassembles, we may be able to bring it along. For more information please call us at 954-399-0049.
Is this tour suitable for pregnant women? What if I’m prone to motion sickness?
We do not recommend pregnant women or those who are prone to motion sickness participate in a flying tour.
Where does the flight depart from? Where does the tour land?
The flight will depart from and return to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. You will receive more detailed directions when you make your reservation.

There is free parking available near the departure point.
Can I fly the plane?
Unless you are a pilot building flight time, only your tour pilot can fly the plane. We offer a Discovery Flight where you can fly the airplane with a Flight Instructor. The Lake Okeechobee Air Tour (here) is a sightseeing air tour, so you cannot fly the airplane. Hands-on flying activities are listed under our Introductory Flights.
